Glendinning Minto & Associates was formed at the start of 2000 by its founding directors Ian Glendinning and Andrew Minto,
both of whom continue to play integral roles in the operation of the business.
Prior to establishing Glendinning Minto & Associates both Ian and Andrew had extensive experience in Local Government with
their most recent employment having been with Ku-ring-gai Council where both of them were employed for approximately 12 years.
During this time Ian fulfilled the role of Director of Development Control and Andrew was one of his Managers.
During their time in Local Government particularly in the latter years it became increasingly apparent that there was a real need
for competent and experienced development control planners to provide assistance to people trying to gain approval of development
applications. This was a reflection of the increased complexity of the development application process as a result of legislative
and regulatory changes which resulted in a greater level of information having to be provided as well as increased frustrations
resulting from the system becoming more politicised.
Over the last 8 years it is estimated that Glendinning Minto & Associates have provided assistance to over 2000 clients for a
comprehensive range of developments, with assistance ranging from development feasibility reports and Statements of Environmental
Effects, to advocacy at both Council and the Land & Environment Court. Success over this time has been high with an estimated 95%
plus of our clients ultimately gaining approval for their project.
In order to better serve our client's needs Glendinning Minto & Associates have expanded consistent with the growth of the business.
This expansion has included the addition of town planners, most with extensive experience in Local Government as well as additional administration
resources, the majority of whom also have Local Government experience.
To this end it is considered that the staff at Glendinning Minto & Associates, have a skills and knowledge base that places them in
an ideal position to assist their clients, a position which is reflected by their high standing in the development industry.
