Prior to commencing life in the private sector, Ian Glendinning had some 30 years experience in Local government in the fields of Health Surveying, Building Surveying, Development Control & Town Planning. He has worked in both city and rural local government areas and from 1988 to 2000 was Director of Development Control & Regulatory Services at Ku-ring-gai Council.

Ian is a life member of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors, having served at both State & National levels and for 5 years was State president. He is a corporate Member of the Planning Institute of Australia and holds qualifications in town planning, building surveying and mediation.



Andrew Minto is one of the founding directors of Glendinning Minto & Associates. He is a qualified Town Planner and Building Surveyor and prior to establishing GMA had over 12 years experience in Local Government. He is a Member of the Planning Institute of Australia as well as a Member of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors.

Andrew has extensive experience with a range of developments including large residential and Seniors Living projects. He also has extensive experience in the Land & Environment Court as an expert witness.



With over 12 years of experience in Development Control and Town Planning, Natalie has obtained an intimate knowledge of dealing with a wide range of developments in both the residential and commercial arena. Recognised for her professionalism Natalie is regularly requested to provide expert testimony in the Land and Environment Court on behalf of developers.

Natalie is a qualified Town Planner and Building Surveyor and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Health and a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning. Her experience includes Local Government and Private sector employment with a strong emphasis on a variety of residential developments.

With both Local Government and Private sector experience Natalie is well placed to provide conciliatory advice on a range of developments from the initial planning stage through to completion.



Sarah Hartley is a qualified town planner with a degree in Urban & Regional Planning and a previous degree in Social Science with a major area of study in Geography. Prior to joining GMA Sarah worked in a Consulting Firm on the Central Coast and undertook specialised projects as part of an undergraduate training placement. These projects included a variety of residential and commercial developments, an EIS for a Waste Recycling Facility, and a joint Report to the Central Coast Waste Board on Illegal Dumping.

Sarah continued her training with GMA and since graduating in 2002 has assisted clients of GMA with small scale projects such as single dwellings, alterations and additions, residential subdivision and dual occupancy development.



Juliet is an experienced Town Planner with a career spanning over 13 years. During this time she has held positions in Consultancy as well as Local and State Government, including Ku-ring-gai Municipal Council, Olympic Co-ordination Authority, and the NSW Department of Planning.

Juliet holds a Master of Laws in Environmental Law from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Town Planning with Honours Class 1 from University of New South Wales. She has also completed a National Trust Architectural Heritage Course and the PIA Consulting Planners Bushfire Training Course. During her career, Juliet has been the recipient of three Awards presented by the Planning Institute of Australia (NSW Division).

Juliet has been an active member of the Planning Institute of Australia, NSW Division. She was a member of the NSW Divisional Committee from 1992 until 2004 and held senior executive positions including Vice President.



Jennie Holt is our Trainee Town Planner. Jennie is currently completing her Graduate Diploma in Urban & Regional Planning at the University of New England. Jennie has previously worked in the Customer Service section of Ku-ring-gai Council so is perfectly placed to answer any administration type questions. Jennie looks after and co-ordinates the lodgement of all development applications with Council.





Colleen has extensive experience in Local Government particularly at Ku-ring-gai Council. Her duties include in addition to being Ian's personal assistant, liaison with Council staff on the status of Development Applications as well as client liaison.



Loretta has recently joined us as our receptionist. She is responsible for answering the telephone and manning the front counter as well as a wide range of administration duties.
